Long time no see, Yoshida! (August 13th)

No, not this Yoshida…

… the famous maker of the marinade and cooking sauce, this Yoshida:

That’s right, Yoshida my summer home point.  Because of my unusually busy schedule (seminars, conferences and the like), I haven’t been to the beach since the Tatadohama trip – a stretch of a couple of weeks.  I was excited to get back in the water…

The above picture was taken just before 6 am.   The weather was great – no wind and a few clouds in the sky.  There were only a few longboarders in the water.  Like usual, the waves were small but surfable.  Taking advantage of the great weather was a large number of fishing boats.

The boats were trolling slowly back and forth and if they passed by close enough, some nice-sized waves were made. 🙂

We continued to surf the small but fun waves – in hope that as the tide rose that the waves would become better.  (High tide is around 9 am).  Unfortunately, the waves didn’t improve so at around 9 am we decided to call it a day.  Here are a few pictures that were taken just before 9 am.  (Notice that most of the boats are gone and that there aren’t many people in the water).

Anyways, it was nice to be back in the water!
