After an unsuccessful outing on Monday, I was hoping for a better day today. Little did I know that today I would experience something new.

Three Strikes… (September 8th)
Today was NOT a good day for surfing. It was so bad that I didn’t even bother to take any pictures. REALLY. First, we checked out Yoshida. FLAT. Second, we stopped at Shizunami. FLAT. Finally, we visited Kashima. There were a few surfers trying to catch some small waves, but not tempting enough for us […]
Tatadohama Weekend (September 6th – 7th)
Finally, we are spending the night at Tatadohama. Earlier in the week, the forecast had been for rain, but the rain is going to miss this part of Japan. Going to spend the weekend at our favourite beach in Japan!
TGIF (September 5th)
I’m still on vacation so the title for this posting isn’t the most appropriate, but it was the best thing that I could think of. Like usual, the waves have been small – would I be pleasantly surprised today??
Donnerstag (September 4th)
“This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays”
Big Wednesday (September 3rd)
Today reminded me of the 1978 Jan-Michael Vincent film, Big Wednesday. A movie that is sitting in the van waiting to be watched during some heavy traffic jam. What a coincidence today was also a Wednesday!
Back to the beach! (September 2nd)

The last summer session (August 22nd)
The above picture was taken just before 6 am this morning. I was surprised that I was able to take this picture without any surfers.
(August 21st)
Like I mentioned in a previous post, days that I can see Mt. Fuji before going to beach seem to be good surfing days. It’s a little blurry but here’s a picture of Mt. Fuji at 4:45 am today: The big question is – Would the waves be as nice as yesterday’s?
Eight is enough? (August 20th)
Recently the winds have been strong, so we decided to meet a little bit earlier than usual. When I stepped out of the apartment, I glanced to see if I could see Mt. Fuji. Surprisingly, I could see it. For some reason, I think it is good luck to be able to see Mt. Fuji […]
